Tecoma stans v. angustata (Esperanza, Yellow Bells)

Shrub

This fast-growing, semi-evergreen woody perennial is native from Arizona to Texas The bright green leaves are narrow and finely dissected. Bright yellow trumpet-shaped flowers provide color all during the warm months, and attract hummingbirds. Persistent, long narrow tan seed pods detract from the appearance in the fall and winter. Prune back hard in the winter to remove the pods, frost damaged foliage, and generate fresh growth. Plant in full sun or partial shade.
