Shrub
‘Ultra Violet’ is a cross between blue flowered Salvia lycioides and pink Salvia greggii. Introduced by plantsman Scott Ogden, this stunning Salvia grows to 20” tall and 28” wide and will display a showy set of vibrant purple blooms from late spring through October. The dark green, aromatic foliage is rabbit and deer resistant. Combine it with Tetraneuris acaulis or Oenothera caespitosa for a spectacular looking xeric garden space. Select a full sun, well drained location for this beauty in higher desert gardens. In low deserts, this plant will perform best with regular summer water.
