Opuntia ficus-indica (Indian Fig)

This large cactus becomes tree-like, with succulent green pads on stout woody trunks. Flat, bright green pads bear clusters of glochids but few if any spines. Yellow flowers are produced in late spring, followed by large yellow-red edible, fleshy fruits. Plant in full sun to part shade and well-drained soils.
