This attractive small tree is native across the Southwest and northern Mexico. In the spring, fragrant ash will be covered with clusters of white fragrant flowers. Trees will drop their leaves in the winter, but are quick to refoliate in the spring. It grows well in heavy soils, but prefers good drainage. Full sun, although at lower elevations it prefers a little afternoon shade.
