Shrub
This large thornless shrub or small tree is native to northern Mexico. It has lush green compound leaves and large lemon-yellow flower spikes. Flowers develop off and on during the warm months, and are followed by large woody seedpods. In mild climates it is evergreen, but leaves drop in colder regions. It thrives in full sun and reflected heat, but requires good drainage.
