Penstemon ambiguus

Sand Penstemon

This shrub-like deciduous species forms a semi-woody mound with narrow, bright green leaves. It is native to the Southwest at elevations from 4,500 to 6,000 feet, where it grows in sandy soils. Masses of pale pink to white flowers cover the plant in the summer. Plant in full sun, provide excellent drainage,and do not overwater. It reseeds in the landscape.
